Number Plate Recognition
There are a growing number of venues where car parking requires the entry of your car number into a computer within the venue. The Colebrook is the latest to have this system. Please check when you arrive at a venue to make sure that you dont pick up a fine.
Singles Merit - Preliminary Round
A reminder that the preliminary round of the 2019 Singles Merits is on Thursday 30th May 2019. Entries should be sent to the Competition Secretary, Ray Pickering, and can be made by post, email or text. Entry fee of £1 per player can be made on the day.
Entry of Results
A reminder that both teams have to save the results on the system. The one team enters the scores and saves the result and the second team click on save result to confirm that the entry is correct
Our season starts on the 9th April with the first round of the League Cup. Fixtures have been distributed to all clubs who have entered the cup and are shown on this website. Host clubs are asked to provide jacks, mats and long tapes.Visiting clubs are reminded that they should provide their own measures.
The next round of the cup was also circulated with venues. Some of these venues may have to be altered, but affected clubs will be advised by email and on this website.
Solihull Bowls Club - Change to Car Parking System
Please note that a new system has been installed for parking cars at the Ramada Hotel Solihull.
Cameras have been installed to record your registration number when you enter the car park, the cost remains the same as before with the cheapest rate being £6 for up to 6 hours parking.
Anyone not complying with the rules as detailed on the notices displayed around the car park will receive a £100 fine.
Both clubs very much regret that the Ramada Hotel will no longer allow us to provide refreshments for visiting teams. Drinks can be purchased from the Hotel but there is no problem with players bringing their own bottled water for personal/medicinal use.
Any queries please contact the relevant team Captain as detailed in the Handbook.
The meeting for paying league fees and collecting handbooks and stationery will be on Wednesday 27th March 2019 at 11am at Yardley Wood Social Club.
Fees are £25 per team which includes 10 handbooks. Additional handbooks can be purchased at £1 each.
John Price - Olton Tavern B.C.
It is with regret that we have to announce the death of John Price of Olton Tavern B.C. who passed away on 8th February 2019. Our condolences to to all his family and friends.
2019 League Fixtures
The 2019 league fixtures are now available on the website. Due to two teams dropping out of the league after the fixtures had been finalised in 2018 and with the withdrawal of an additional team in 2019 and a new team joining in the bottom division, the lower divisions have had a few extra adjustments so that each division has the same number of teams. This has divided the 73 teams into three divisions of 11 and four divisions of 10.
The draw for the preliminary round of the cup has been made and can be seen on the cup fixtures page.
