Mon May 18th

Covid-19

The current restrictions on bowling from the BCGBA viz:

Only one group on a green at a time where a group is family members plus one other

means that, for most of us, a group is two bowlers. The 2 metre rule applies at all times.

Each bowler only bowls his own jack and the mat would only be carried by its owner.

The toilets and club houses remain locked.

These restrictions mean for Alstom, and I believe Stafford BC and Amasal, it is impractical

to open the greens at the moment.

As the ability to play matches seems a long way off, we have to confirm that there will be no league

matches played this season.

Since our competitions are not due until the end of the season in August/September, we will have

to see nearer the time whether it will be feasible to play any of them.

Note that the BCGBA/County have already moved all their competitions to next year except for

the Ladies Champion of Champions which was washed out last year.

Along with the BCGBA plan to carry the 2020 handbooks forward to next year with an addendum

of date adjustments, we plan to do the same with our fixture lists! Do  not destroy them!

The Council have advised that Victoria Park will not be opening any time soon (if at all this year)

and this includes the green!

In the meantime, stay safe!

Mon Mar 30th

Sadly we have to report the passing of Jim Summers who bowled for Burton Manor and Alstom.

Tue Mar 17th

CORONAVIRUS
Following government announcements, the BCGBA has decreed that
all bowling activity, matches and competitions, in the league is suspended
until further notice.
