With Club competition bowling looking more likely to restart sometime in July (hopefully), it has been agreed to a reduction of Club Membership Subscriptions (normally £30) - (£25 Veterans) to just £10 and asking all members to make a further payment of £10 for a prize draw (50% of which will be paid out in prize money at the end of the season). Total due £20 to be paid to the Treasurer Mr Ben Parkes, cheques made payable to Llanymynech Bowling Club can be posted to Ben at 115 Heritage Way, Llanymynech, SY22 6LN. His mobile telephone No 075 39029 766 if you have any queries.
As a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic the Club still has financial outgoings, and is looking at a running loss of between £850 - £1000.
Once the Government restrictions are lifted and the BCGBA allow club competitive bowls we will be making several club competitions available, with lots of plans being discussed, including a variation on the popular CTT competition, variations of a floodlit competition as well as the normal Club competitions and social nights (target bowls etc).
But at present we are limited to 6 players on and or around the green, and anyone wishing to practice must book an hourly session with the Secretary so that a record/log can be kept if requested by either the SCGBA / BCGBA at a later date.
STAY SAFE - Hope to see you at the green very soon

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE LLANYMYNECH BOWLING CLUB 13 MAY 2020
Following a meeting this lunchtime the following course of actions has been agreed.
Please see heading CORONAVIRUS GRFEEN BOOKINGS FOR GREEN AVAILABILITY
Any member wishing to bowl within the BCGBA/SCGBA/Government guidelines must telephone the Club Secretary Roger Candlin ( 07398 444248), to book an hour slot. To comply with the guidelines the Club must keep a record of who has played on the green and on which day. There will be a notice on the entrance to the green to this effect. This information is important for any track and trace measures needed.
I will update this page with any bookings received in advance, on this I can confirm that the green has already been booked for Saturday 16 May between 9 - 10 am.
A bowler can practice on his/her own or with anyone from their household or with one other person from a different household. It is suggested that if you are playing with someone from another household you use two jacks. You must use your own equipment as the club house is not to be entered. Social distancing MUST be adhered to.
Follow strict hygiene practices at every opportunity - wash your hands when you get home
Any questions please contact me.

LIMITED OPENING OF BOWLING GREENS
Following the governments relaxation on the use of sports facilities, the BCGBA have just issued a document explaining how bowling clubs can open their greens from Wednesday 13th May. All clubs have received this four page document but you can read it by clicking on "BCGBA Advice" in the green area to your left. Unfortunately it does not facilitate the start of League bowling at this stage - basically only limited social bowling under controlled conditions - which is obviously better than nothing!
1. Only 1 group permitted on the green at a time
2. You can practice alone, or with members of your household, or with one other person from outside your household whilst practising social distancing.
3. Club schedule of attendance (names, dates & times must be recorded) to ensure limited attendance (record of green availability should be maintained).
4. Club to appoint a central contact (to enable track & trace records should this be required).
5. Only Club members allowed on the green
6. Clubhouse and toilets to remain closed, will be reviewed as part of phase 2/3.
The officers of the Club are meeting today 13 May to discuss the way forward for the club and details will be posted on this page later today.
Stay safe and well, regards Roger

This is the statement issued by The Waterloo Blackpool on Thursday 30 April 2020
The team trying to safeguard the future of the sport at the Waterloo in Blackpool – featuring former British No.1 Gary Ellis – have issued a statement saying that the famous venue is closed for the whole of this year.
Unable to finalise a lease with the owners, the statement says: “Covid-19 has obviously got in the way of that and our view now is that we should cancel all bowling for 2020 and focus on getting everything done for spring 2021, resuming then.
“It’s a real shame but we think it is for the best to make an early decision on it and let everybody know – so if we are out of lockdown by the autumn people who perhaps would normally come to the Waterloo can make other arrangements for breaks/holidays etc.
Take care everyone hope to see you around the green soon

CTT ROUND ONE 6pm START - Suspended until further noticeSat Mar 21st
GREEN OPENS for 2020 Season - Suspended until further noticeMon Mar 16th
MONDAY 16 MARCH 2020
Following the Government announcement this afternoon it is with great sadness that we now have to suspend all bowling for the foreseeable future.Tue Feb 25th
Based on the advice announced we need to avoid all mass gatherings and sporting event as these will no longer be supported by the emergency services.
If anyone within your household has symptoms then the whole family need to isolate for 14 days.
Limit social contact wherever possible and encourage working from home.
At risk groups - those over 70 and those with medical conditions need to take additional care.
All BCGBA meetings should now be postponed as un-necessary travel should be avoided. Contact in Pubs, Clubs and restaurants to be avoided.
Taking this all into account all leagues should now suspend matches until such time as we are given an all clear to resume competition.
All BCGBA and BCGLCC Competitions are now suspended until further notice this should include all qualifier events.
As a Bowls community we need to look after our members and I encourage you to follow the advice being given and support those we are able to at this very difficult time.
