Ken Harrison, a well loved and longstanding member of Whittington Bowls Club sadly passed away at the end of October. Ken was a lovely gentleman and well respected throughout the bowling fraternity, he made a very formidable opponent and will be missed by many. Condolences to his family and friends.

It is with great sadness that I have to report Ron Neville, who bowled for Chase Terrace and Hazelwood for many years, passed away last Monday, 30th November, after a long illness. Ron was a lovely man and will be greatly missed. Our condolences go to his family and friends.

Sadly, George Tweddle passed away yesterday. Our thoughts are with all his family and friends at this sad time.
Sun Jul 19th
Sadly, Bill Smith, from Pelsall BC died on Friday 17th July at the grand old age of 92 from natural causes. Bill was a long standing member of Pelsall since 1972, and will be fondly remembered by club and League associates as a real gentleman. RIP Bill.
Sat May 16th
Sadly, Rob Shorter from Hednesford BC passed away earlier today. Rob, was a "soldier" through and through and will be greatly missed by all the members. Anyone who had any contact with Rob will know what a lovely gentleman he was and his presence on the bowling green will certainly be missed. Our sympathies are with his family and all his friends at this very sad time. R.I.P Rob I will really miss our chats.
I am sorry to report that Ron Faulkner from Oak Park BC has passed away after contracting coronavirus. Our deepest sympathies are with his family and friends at this sad time.
At last nights County meeting, via video, it was decided that there will be no bowling at County level this year. Some Leagues are waiting to see what is happening in the current situation at the end of June. There will be no bowling in respect of the Lichfield & District League this year and all subs paid will be carried over to next year. Please, stay home and stay safe.
Alf Preece from Chadsmoor, and a very long standing member of the League, passed away last Saturday. Alf, who was 88, passed away one week after his wife of 60+ years. Neither is thought to have been coronavirus related. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
Stuart Marlow from Stafford Road BC sadly died yesterday. Stuart was a very loyal and well loved member of the club and will be sorely missed. Our condolences go to all his family and friends.
Sadly, Norman Marson, former captain of Chase Terrace A passed away last Sunday afternoon. Norman was a lovely, bubbly person and will be sorely missed. Our condolences go to his family and friends at this sad time. It was not Coronovirus related.
Frank Crosby, a very long standing and highly regarded member of British Rail, has sadly passed away. Everyone who knew this lovely gentleman will miss him a lot. Our thoughts are with Franks family and friends at this sad time.
Oak Park have just informed me of the death of three of their players, Cheriann Slade, Edwin Brookhouse and Eddie Dwyer. They are all very well respected players and will be sadly missed. Our condolences go to their family and friends. Unfortunateley, due to restrictions only very close family will be allowed at the funerals.

THE 2020 FIXTURES AND FIRST ROUND OF THE CUPS ARE NOW LIVE AND AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE. PLEASE DISREGARD THE ONES I SENT OUT LAST MONTH.
YOU WILL SEE THAT MUSEUM, BLOXWICH AND BRIDGTOWN B HAVENT GONE UP AND RAG A HASNT BEEN RELEGATED. THIS IS BECAUSE, WITH ONLY 55 TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE AFTER CHADSMOOR, HEDNESFORD B AND RUGELEY PROG B RESIGNED, IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET 10 TEAMS IN DIVISION 1 AND THE OTHER 5 DIVISIONS OF 9 AND A BYE.
