It is with great sadness that I have been asked to inform clubs that Geoff Sparkes from Pelsall BC passed away this morning in the arms of his wife Yvonne.  Geoff was a lovely man and contracted Covid two weeks ago.  Geoff will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.  Our thoughts and sympathy goes out to Yvonne at this very sad time.

I have just received a message from Helen, Bill Bacon's daughter.

 

"We are having a celebration of my dad's life at the Ashmole WMC, Hammerwich on Saturday September 11th 2 - 6pm.  If anyone would like to come you would be very welcome, it would be nice to hear any stories of my dad's bowling.  Please let me know if you would like to attend."

Sadly, Bill Bacon from Chase Terrace passed away earlier today.  Bill was really one of the "old school", a lovely gentleman and treasurer of Chase Terrace for more than 20years, he will be very sadly missed by the all bowling fraternity who had the pleasure of knowing him.  Our sincere condolences go to all his family and friends.

The Rag WILL be serving food at the end of the matches as from Monday now that the restrictions have been lifted.

As from Monday 17th May all restrictions for affiliated clubs at League Matches are removed.  Car sharing, spectators and indoorhospitality will be allowed.

Lichfield Rugby Club have just informed me that they WILL be providing tea, coffee and biscuits during an interval at their home games.  They feel that with matches finishing earlier than usual it will be a good chance to catch up with old friends (and foes).  

Just a reminder that although there are only 8 players per team this season there WILL be promotion and relegation and team averages as usual.

 

Can I also thank every team captain for promptly entering the match results.

Pelsall BC have vacancies and are looking for new members.  They are having an open day on Sunday 30th May from 10.00am - 4.00pm.  If you are looking to join another club then go along where everyone will be made welcome.  Please spread the word and if you know anyone who would like to have a go at bowling but don't have any woods then go along anyway some woods will be made available.

Streetly have just informed me that reluctantly they will not be providing any food this year.  They will be providing tea and coffee.

I am so sorry if I am confusing everyone, me included!! but I have just received clarification that players DON'T need their own jacks, just use the home club's, but jacks and mats must be sanitised during use.  Carry a packet of wet wipes.

Just to clarify, the only people allowed at matches at the moment are:

8 players per team plus the captain plus a reserve, and legitimate registered carers.

Car sharing is not allowed unless it is with someone in your own household or bubble.

PLEASE NOTE!!

NO spectators are allowed at any matches, only players and captains should attend at the moment.  All covid rules must be strictly adhered too and hopefully we will be able to gradually  return to 'normality' sometime about late June.
