Whitchurch and District Bowling League

Secretary – Juliette Swire

Annual Report. 2020

Firstly I would like to thank all those who have supported me through my first year as League Secretary, it has been at times a bumpy ride and there have been several challenges thrown at me and I have found myself on the end of some clubs and individuals frustrations. Overall though a positive first year.

I would also like to thank John Mitchell and his lovely wife Ann, for all their hard work creating the Fixture Book, which is a mammoth task and also for taking on the challenges of the Raffle at this Years’ Annual Dinner.

The Dinner was attended by 135 members , down on the year before.  Something that was brought to my attention, was the disco. The disco in it’s self was fine, but having it so late, was it value for money. We had the lovely Tim Beckett this year, who supplied the microphones etc and background music through the Dinner.

The Dinner for 2020 has been booked for Friday 27th November at the Civic Centre.

Team News- Withdrawals and new entries to the League info to follow.

The impact of this on the fixtures,  will be addressed by the Fixture Secretary Mike Beckett.

The County Secretary has requested that I remind all clubs to make sure their details are up to date on the county website. This information is required to ensure your CR1 form is correct. Please also advise if their has been a change of Secretary and their contact details.

Club contact information sheet for 2020, has gone out with GDPR forms before this meeting, please have them returned to League Secretary by 21st February , this will enable sufficient time for changes to be made in the fixture books etc.

DBS checks – if you need one , slots for 8th February @ Tilstock Bowling Club are available. Please contact me to book.

Finally , I would like to thank all the club officials for all their hard work. It sometimes gets overlooked , the effort they put in supporting their club.

Have a brilliant season for 2020.
