  1 The league shall operate under the rules of the Burton & District Association and League with the exceptions listed below.  
  2 The registration of players for the Floodlit League is completely separate from the other leagues and can include both male and   
    female. Transfer between clubs in the floodlit season is not permitted.  
  3 Application for entry to, or withdrawal from, the Floodlit League must be received by the Secretary not later than 17th August  
    prior to the floodlit season beginning.  
  4 Teams shall consist of 4 singles players, and 2 doubles pairs each game being 21 up.  

Visiting teams will not have use of the green before the start of the match.

  6 Matches to commence at 6.45pm.  
  7 Order of play shall be as follows, start with 1 doubles and 2 singles.  
    When these three games have all finished  the other doubles and 2 singles will start their games.
  8 Match points shall be awarded for each point scored by an individual player or a doubles match.  
  9 If a team is one player short a singles shall be defaulted. If a team is two players short a doubles shall be defaulted.  
    Six players is the minimum that any team can field. Failure to field six players will result in the match being defined as  
    'unplayed'. No-one can play twice in one match.  
  10 Any unplayed games in the floodlit league will result in the offending team receiving 42 points.  
    The non-offending team will receive their best home/away score.  
  11 At the end of each game the completed result sheet should be agreed and signed by both captains.  
    The home team is responsible for entering the results on the Burton Floodlit League website.  
    Each team will have a password for entering results which must be done within 24 hours of the match.  
    The home team must retain the result sheet in case of a query by either the away team or the League Secretary.  
  12 Matches should be played on the day scheduled except for cancellation due to :-  
    a. Inclement weather or adverse green conditions as determined by the host club.  
    b. Unforeseen exceptional circumstances reported to and at the discretion of the League Secretary.  
    The League Secretary must be informed of such re-arrangements with the re-scheduled date.  
  13 Should any two clubs have equal number of points in any division when all the matches have been played, the order of  
    precedence shall be determined by:  
    a. The team having won most matches.  
    b. The team having drawn most matches.  
    c. Dividing the aggregate number of points scored for by the number of points scored against in all matches.  
    There will be no promotion or relegation this year and no prize money awarded.  
    The winners of the trophies belonging to the Association will be held responsible for the safe custody during the period of  
    their possession.  
  14 The Executive Committee is empowered to deal with any matter appertaining to the League operation not provided for in  
    these rules and regulations.
