Secretaries of Senior Citizens Teams in Divisions 2, 3, 4 and 5
Just a reminder of teams that play in mornings that start at 10.30 am, although there are a couple of exceptions which are listed at the end.
Division 3 - Cradley Heath Libs C, Wombourne C; Division 4 - Romsley C, Swindon C, Coombswood C, Swindon D
Division 5 - Dudley Sports C, Kingswinford Cons C, Mary Stevens Park C, Dudley Sports D,Coombswood D
Additionally Dartmouth Central in Division 3 start their home matches at 2pm and Dudley Dell C in Division 3 play in the afternoon at 1.30 pm
Please ensure that your Captains are aware of these matches as turning up at the wrong time incurs a fine.

Dudley & District Bowling League - AGM 2019
The Leagues AGM wil be held on Thursday 31 January 2019 at DMBEC Brierley Hill at 7.45 pm, with the pay-in meeting on Wednesday 13th March 2019 again at DMBEC at 7.45 pm onwards.
The following Additional Teams have applied to join the League:

Two further clubs are considering joining the League, one on Thursday and one Senior Citizens
Sedgley Ex Ladies are moving to Penn BC for 2019 onwards
The main Rule change proposed by 3 Clubs for this season, as with the Oldbury League, is an early start for Senior Citizens games on Wednesdays.

2018 Presentation Evening - This year the Presentation Evening will be held on Friday 9th November at Cradley Sports, 7.30 pm for 8 pm. Tickets are £3 each and obtainable from the Secretary. Congratulations to the Dudley Federation Team who, following completion of the fixtures, are the Division 3 winners and have gained promotion 3 year running. They now go forward to the Champion of Champions Event on Sunday 23rd September in the Halifax area.
The Dudley Senior Citizens Team were also successful in the Annual Challenge Match against East Birmingham Over 60s League winning by 56 shots on Woodman Saltwells and losing by 12 shots at Hollyfields, Erdington. The score now stands at 4-1 to Dudley. At the home venue the best wins were by Mario Caserio, Langley 21-8; Bill Bowater, Glasscutters 21-10 and Bill Chiswell, George 21-11. At the away venue the best winners were Eric Winstone, George 21-4; Peter Tolley, Dudley Dell 21-8; Terry Cadman, George 21-10 and Alan Mole, Woodman Saltwells 21-10. Thursday 30th August -The Senior Citizens Cup Final being played at Coseley Athletic with a start time of 1pm.
Sunday 2nd September - The Junior Merit Competition being played at Woodman Saltwells with a start time of 1.30pm
Thursday 6th September - Final of the Senior Citizens Triples Competition being played at Coombswood with a start time of 1pm
Thursday 13th September - the last competition of the season is the Senior Citizens Champion of Champions. The venue is to be confirmed.

This is always a well supported event with some great bowling, and Somers provides an excellent venue for a Friday evening, so please come along and enjoy the evening. Friday 27th July - Mixed Doubles Final at Cradley Heath Liberals - Maggie Paling and Elliott McGuinness will be looking to retain their trophy. The draw also includes 2016 winers, Fran Healey and Matt Price.
Thursday 2nd August - Qualifying Round of SC Triples Competition - 1pm start using both greens at Portland Road
Friday 3rd August - Mens Individual Merit Final at The Wernley - 6.30 pm start. The draw includes Matt Price who will be looking to retain his trophy and Nathan Dawes, winner in 2015 and 2016.
Thursday 9th August - Senior Citizens Challenge Cup Semi-Finals - Laurels A v Coombs Wood A on Somers, and George A v Royal Oak A on Langley. The matches start at 1pm
Friday 10th August - Ladies Handicap Cup Final at Penn BC. Holders Dudley Dell take on Wombourne starting at 7pm

Dudley Bowls Federation In the last game played at Dudley Dell on Sunday 22nd July which was against Fylde A, the team won by 97 shots having 11 out of 12 winners and dropping only 3 shots. Best wins were Marc Wilson (George) 21-6 and Mike Hill (WBFSC) 21-7. At the away venue the team lost by 21 shots having 5 winners. Dan Davies (Woodman MP) 21-15 and Ian Carr (Coombs Wood) 21-9 were the best winners. This win puts the team firmly at the top of the table by 22 points having finished their season Promotion is looking very good, for the second and third placed teams have to play each other. Ladies Div 1 and 2 Doubles The closing date for this competition is Tuesday 26th June and entries can be made to Joan Taylor on 01384 234846 or via entry forms or Bowls.Comp. The fee is £6 per pair. In the past support from Division 2 bowlers has been very limited so can you ask all Division 2 bowlers to enter and, of course, Division 1. Ladies Handicap Cup, Senior Citizens Cup and Herald Cup - draws for the next round in these 3 competitions are now on line. Please enter results on the Dudley League system immediately after the various matches.
Holmes Cup Men's Merit 2018 Qualifying Round. The qualifying round players are listed on the relevant green tab on the left hand side of this page. The qualifiers are scheduled to take place on Friday 25th May. If your club has players competing please ensure they are aware of the green they are playing at and the start time, plus if they are nominated organisers. DUDLEY BOWLS FEDERATION The next match for the Federation is against Nuneaton, being played on Coombswood on Sunday 20th May starting at 2pm. Support at this event from the Dudley League Clubs would be much appreciated.
In the first game against East Lancs the team lost overall by 1 shot and overall had 14 winners against 10 losers with the overall points shared 16 each. Full details of the scores can be found on the Leagues website under Federation results. Cancelled Matches - in view of the recent bad weather, several games have been postponed due to waterlogged greens. Can I remind all clubs of Rule 9d which states that the Match Secretary must be notified of all match cancellations for whatever reason by a representative of the team cancelling the match with the rearranged date if possible. Failure to notify a match cancellation within 7 days of the match date and/or the eventual agreed rearranged date will result in a fine of £5.00. All matches must be arranged and played within 28 days. Failure to do so will entail a fine of £10 per week or part thereof for BOTH teams until the match is played. Barry Jones, Match Secretary
