Sat Mar 31st Deadline for returning registration sheets to the Secretary.
Sun Apr 8th Junior Age Group Competition 2018 at Stretton Bowls Club 1pm start. First opportunity for junior bowlers to play competitively against youngsters of their own age. There will be trophies for age group winners. David Brown will be running this competition please support it if you can.
Sun Apr 22nd Closing date for entries into the Centenary Individual Merit.
Swadlincote Caths 'B' have withdrawn from league division three.
The fixtures have been revised to avoid any teams having a bye.
Division One fixtures have not been altered.
Division Two fixtures have been altered slightly. Rolleston 'A' and Tutbury 'A' have been switched round.
Division Three fixtures have been altered slightly. Tutbury 'B' have been promoted from division four to take the fixtures of Swad Caths 'B'.
Division Four fixtures have been completely revised. This means that there will be no matches on 5th May, 26th May, 28th July and 29th September.
New sponsors are required for the divisional averages home and away. Cost £50 per year.

2018 is the centenary of the Burton Individual Merit.
Martin Drury has kindly offered to sponsor this event.
There will be a prize of £300 for the winner. Entrance fee is only £5.
Also there will be a cash prize for the player progressing the furthest from each division.
Qualifying rounds will be played on Saturday 5th May starting at 4pm.
Finals (last 16) will be played on Saturday 26th May starting at 4pm.
Entries with entrance fee to Malcolm Cheese by Sunday 22nd April.

The position regarding Barton A in the 1st division was discussed and it was decided that they should remain in Division 1.
The reason behind the decision is as follows:
Following the loss of a significant number of 1st team players, no official request was received from Barton BC to place their 1st team in a lower league.
Without such a request, the committee decided it has neither the intention nor the authority to relegate a team in these circumstances.
Reminder that all clubs should have at least one named Safegaurding Officer who must hold a current DBS.
