BOWLING LEAGUE

CUP AND COMPETITION RULES

1   All games shall be governed by the British Crown Green Bowling Association Laws of Bowling .Each club to be represented by 10 players. Games to be 21up Singles. Home and Away matches to be played through out the competition.

A win to count as two points, a tie one point.

One point for each winner only on league games .Cases of equal points at the end of the Season to be decided by aggregate.

Games to be played on Saturday if possible.

2. All GAMES TO COMMENCE AT 2.30 pm SATURDAY and 6.45pm FOR NIGHT MATCHES (PENN 11.30 am START SATURDAYS ONLY )

  1. Any absentees, reserves to be put in, if reserves not present at deadline, games to be awarded to opponents ,Once green is empty, match is finished

  2. Draw - 4 ended greens 2 x 4 + 2 or 3 ended greens 3 x 3 +1

3. SEVEN CLEAR DAYS NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN BY CLUBS SECRETARIES FOR POSTPONEMENT OF FIXTURES.

4. A list of all members of affiliated clubs to be forwarded to the league secretary at the paying in meeting each year.

5. Any club wishing to resign from the league shall give notice to the league secretary in writing before JANUARY 1st in any year if not, all league dues to be paid for the season plus a £40 fine

6. Any club not playing 10 members on the day of the fixture shall forfeit 21 points for each absentee

7. When a complete team fails to arrive at venue a score of 210 – 120 will be awarded to the non offending team

8. Clubs unable to comply with this rule may by mutual agreement before the date of the fixture arrange the completion of the match within the period specified in RULE 9

  1. Three days notice to be given

  2. All cancellations to be confirmed in writing

  3. Fine for signing incorrect result card shall not be less than £1 and no more than £5 per club subject to the management committees decision

9.  Should weather or cup ties or any other reason prevent matches being played on the fixture Date they shall be played on a Date agreed between the secretaries of the clubs concerned within four weeks

10.  Should rule 9 not be complied with the League committee.fix a date on which the match shall be played In the event of any club failing to comply with this rule they shall be find £5

11.  In all matches the visiting team shall not be allowed practice and shall have choice of jack

12.  The captain of each club shall act as referee but when they are playing their places shall be taken by the vice captains or Secretaries.

13.  The captain or secretary of the home team shall after the match and within three days input score on bowls site.

14.  In each match the home team shall provide four county standard jacks

15. WHERE A CLUB HAS TWO OR MORE TEAMS ,NOT MORE THAN ONE PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLAY FOR BOTH TEAMS IN ANY SCHEDULED

fixture or re-arranged fixture.It is not permissible for a player to play in both matches when other players are not playing at all

The score for the player in the second team may be awarded 21-0 against for a deliberate offence

16. Any protests must be in writing within 14 days of match

17. Any other complaints or protests must be made in writing to the league Secretary accompanied by a fee of £10 which will be returned if protest is upheld

18.  Cups shall be presented to league winners Cups not returned at Presentation Evening will be find £10

19.  The Individual Merit is open to all members at an annual entrance fee of £2

  1. The club will nominate and Pay for 2 players

  2. This will be played on one day 21up with 5 on the card Final WILL BE 21up of scratch

No practice allowed

20.  There shall be a league average prize to be won on points one point for a home or away win should the leading players have equal points the aggregate shall decide

21.  There shall be an annual prize distribution to be held each year at a place fixed by the    management committee

22.  Promotion and relegation will be on two up and two down system

EXEPT WHEN DIVISIONS NEED TO BE ADJUSTED

23.  ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR FLAT SHOES

24.  HOSPITAL CUP.AND A W DUNN CUP.

  1. All players eligible to play in first Round.

  2. Players must have played in at least 25% of league matches prior to final

  3. All games 21 up 5 home 5 away basis Finals on neutral greens

  4. Scoring is on aggregate only in all cups

  5. Results will not be allowed to count as a league match

25.  All rule changes must be passed by two thirds of meeting attendance

 Proposed changes must be sent in writing to the Secretary,28 days prior to half-yearly meeting

26.  Clubs will be fined £10 for nonattendance at meetings

Clubs must be represented at A.G.M. and HALF – YEARLY MEETINGS

27.  Any matches not played on fixture date home club to NOTIFY SECRETARY A.S.A.P.stating reasons

RULES FOR WOLVERHAMPTON CHRONICLE CUP/TP WILKINS CUP

  1. All clubs will compete in competition.

  2. All games to be 5 Home 5 Away final to be played on neutral green.

  3. First two rounds to be played on the two Saturdays prior to the league

  4. All rounds 21up AND SCORED ON AGGREGATE ONLY.

  5. Players must have played in at least 25% of league matches prior to final

  6. In any one season to qualify FOR FINAL.

  7. If the match end in a draw three extra games must be played each captain to. Nominate the three players.

  8. Other rules as for league matches.

  9. Losers prior to round two will compete in the T.P.WILKINS CUP.

RULES FOR WORKS LEAGUE DOUBLES

1   Entrance fee will be £2 per pair 

2   Games will be 15 up till semi final and final which will be 21up

3   Players will not play on their own greens in qualifying rounds ONLY IF PLAYED ON ONE DAY THEY WILL OWE 1-2-3

4   No one player will be allowed to play on his or her own in qualifying rounds or final stages.

5   The final shall consist of 8 pairs.

6   Substitutes will be allowed in qualifying rounds if nominated before draw is made

7   The club will nominated and Pay for ONE pair 

8   Players must play at least 3 games in any one season to qualify before finals day

JUNIOR and SENIOR INDIVIDUAL MERIT COMPETITION

The club will nominated and pay for two players in the senior merit @ £2 each

Rules to fall in line with Staffs association junior and senior merit.

Entrance fee for juniors will be £1 per player
