  League Rules  
1. The League will operate under the Rules of the Burton & District Association with the exceptions listed below.  
2. The league shall be referred to as the Needwood Mixed Veterans League, affiliated to Derbyshire Crown Green Bowling Association.  
3. The league would be a mixed league of players both male and female who have reached the age of 50 years.  
  Wherever possible a mixed team will be encouraged.  
4. Finance shall be obtained by an annual league fee per team, as determined at the Annual General Meeting,  
  payable on registration of the teams. Clubs should notify the Secretary of team entries to the league by end of November.  
5. The league would play matches on Monday afternoons commencing at 1:30 pm with 15 minutes practice being allowed for  
  visitors immediately beforehand. The season commences in April, but will exclude Bank Holidays where possible.  
6. Teams  shall  comprise from six to twelve players with matches being played as 6 singles and 3 doubles (2 players).  
  No player shall play in more than one single or more than one doubles.  
  Teams fielding insufficient players for a match will lose matches accordingly.  
  Clubs with more than one team playing in the same league are required to squad the players for each team.
  Clubs having teams in more than one division shall nominate three of their best players for each team except the lowest.  
  Any other player shall be considered nominated if they have a plus average at any time after three matches.  
7. Player Registration. Each  player should  have life membership of BCGBA and be registered with the Derbyshire Association.  
  All players taking part in the league must be registered with the Needwood Mixed Veterans League Secretary by the end of March.  
  Any subsequent registrations to be in the hands of the Secretary by the Friday after the match the player first plays in.  
  Players must have played at least two games in order to be eligible to play in the last three games of the season.  
8. Results shall be reckoned on the basis of one point per game, singles or doubles, with an aggregate win bonus of two points home  
  and four points away. In the case of an aggregate tie each team will receive half the win points.  
  In the event of a fixture not being fulfilled the offending club shall receive no points and their opponents  
  shall receive points equal to their average home or away result as appropriate.  
9. Matches shall begin with three singles ends on the green and this will be maintained throughout the match.  
  The three doubles games shall go on after a break from the singles games.  
10. At the completion of each match, the completed result card must be agreed and signed by both captains.  
  The home and away team are responsible for entering and checking the result on the Mb Bowling Results Service website select Needwood. Each club will have a password for entering the results, which must be completed  
  within 48 hours of each match being played. A £5 fine will be imposed on the home team for any late results.  
  The home team must retain the results card until the end of the season in case of any queries by the teams or Chairman.  
  You must notify the Chairman of any cancelled or rearranged games.  
  All monies received from this source will be allocated to charity each year.  
  No fixtures to be re-arranged for after the end of the season.  
11. The respective winners and runners-up of the League's Divisions will be presented with a trophy.  
12. The Annual General Meeting shall be held in January each year.  
  Any revisions to Rules should be sent to the Secretary by end of November to allow circulation prior to the AGM.  
13. New teams wishing to join the league must submit their intention to do so to the   
  Secretary by 1st December to allow their request to be considered at the January AGM.  
14. In the case of teams from the same Club playing in the same Division both fixtures to be played before the last three matches  
  of the season.
