    BURTON INDIVIDUAL MERIT COMPETITION RULES  
    for the CHALLENGE CUP - Donor: BURTON DAILY MAIL  
  1 The Competition shall be styled the Association Individual Merit Competition.  
    The Individual Merit Competition shall be the qualifying competition for the County Merit.  
  2 The Competition is open to male players who are members of clubs affiliated to the Burton Association.  
    The stated closing date shall be adhered to, no exceptions will be made.  
  3 When entering the Competition players shall nominate all Burton Association Clubs where he is a member of the Bowls Section.  
    Failure to do so will render him liable to disqualification from the Competition, subject to the discretion of the  
    Executive Committee whose decision shall be final.  
  4 It shall be controlled by the Executive Committee and played on dates selected by them.  
    The entrance fee shall be as determined from year to year at the Annual General Meeting.  
  5 A number of players will report to each selected green and upon arrival two referees will make the draw based upon  
    the number present at the appointed start time.  
  6 All games shall be played on neutral greens.  
  7 The games shall be 21 up and no practice whatsoever shall be allowed before the games start.  
  8 The Executive Committee shall appoint referees, measurers and any other officials they may consider necessary for each green.  
  9 The winner of the Competition shall hold for 12 months the Burton Daily Mail Challenge Cup.  
  10 Any player who qualifies for the final of the Individual Merit and is not present to compete shall forfeit their place in any  
    further Competitions unless allowance is given by the Executive Committee.  
  11 Any matter arising that is not covered by these rules shall be covered by the rules of the Association and the BCGBA.
